If you're still reading and haven't visited the medicare links yet, let me reveal how this web site happened. I was finding it extremely difficult getting the exact info I was looking for, I know some sites do have it, like the medicare sites I listed above, but mostly web sites don't offer to the exact thing.

Instead of searching the web and going from one medicare website to the next I thought I'd create my own medicare site, and it's obvious I've only just made a start on it. Right now I haven't really got the content I want compiled, which is why I've listed these other, more established medicare sites. One day soon this will be the best place to visit to find information or buy. Until then you'll have to be satisfied with the medicare listings.

A treasure chest of medicare information.

There is no doubt you and I have a great interest in medicare after all that's why you arrived at this web page and it's why I created this medicare web site. I'm actually passionate about medicare and in time will make the site one of the best resources for information.

You can search around for hours looking for good medicare sites but as you have no doubt found, many of the sites that rank well in search engines for medicare are pretty hopeless. While your visit to my site is a little premature because I'm still working on it, in the not too distant future it will become one of the best sites on the net for medicare.

I'm aware of the needs of people searching the net for medicare information and I plan to create a directory of valuable links to medicare sites. Every site I list, such as the examples below will carry recommended reading and I'm sure every visitor will be delighted with what they find. Here's just a small example of the links you will find in the future, I'm sure if you visit the site you will not be disappointed.

Right now I'm working on making my medicare site bigger and better, it's turning out to be a much largerr task than I expected, but because I am passionate about medicare I work with great purpose so it's not really work.

I invite you to call back sometime and I'm sure I'll have it completed and maybe you can pass on my url to your friends that have similar medicare interests.

urger Safety Tips

 by: News Canada

(NC)-Here are some hamburger food safety tips from Health Canada:

Preparing:

  • Wash hands thoroughly with warm soapy water before and after handling any raw meat.

  • Thaw frozen meat in the refrigerator. If you must thaw food quickly, keep the food in its original wrapping and place in a container of cold water. Change the water every half hour to ensure the water remains cold. If raw meat comes in contact with sinks and kitchen surfaces, remember to wash them immediately.

  • You can also thaw meat in the microwave by using the "defrost" setting if the food is to be cooked immediately.

  • Marinate meat in the refrigerator, not on the counter. Discard the marinade after use because it contains raw juices, which may harbour bacteria. If you want to use the marinade as a dip or sauce, reserve a portion of it before adding it to the raw meat.

  • Do not allow cooked food to come in contact with raw meat. Use separate cutting boards and utensils or wash items thoroughly between uses.

Cooking:

  • Ground beef must be cooked to an internal temperature of 71° C (160° F). Using an instant-read food thermometer is crucial. In fact, research results indicate that some ground beef may prematurely brown before a safe internal temperature has been reached. The colour of meat alone is not considered a reliable indicator of ground beef safety. If eating out, order your hamburger cooked well done.

Serving:

  • Keep hot foods hot at 60° C (140° F) or higher and cold foods cold at 4° C (40° F) or lower.

  • Do not keep cooked food unrefrigerated or unfrozen for more than two hours.
